Psalm 19
© Jamie Soles Jan 22, 1989
Day after day the skies proclaim
Night after night they display
The knowledge of the God of glory
And the
works of His hands
Their voice goes out through all the lands
There is no speech or language
Where
their voice is not heard
Their word goes out to the ends of the world
The ends of the world
The law
of the Lord is perfect, it revives my soul
I can trust what He says to make me wise
The precepts of
the Lord are right
Giving joy to my heart
The commands of the Lord give light to my eyes
There is no speech or language....
The fear
of the Lord is pure, enduring forever
The sayings of the Lord are sure and right
They are more desirable
than gold
And sweeter than honey from the comb
There is no speech or language....
By them is Your servant warned
In keeping them
is great reward
So keep me from my sin
May my thoughts and words today
Be pleasing You in every way
O Lord
There is no speech or language....
Trusting in You

Sometimes life gets hard, don’t know just which way to turn
And it seems like one way or another I’m
gonna get burned
But Jesus I know that You’re holding my hand
And You’re gonna be there when
I need You, helping me stand
Helping me stand, I’m trusting in You
When I see the storm closing in
around me
There’s no shelter in sight
and it seems like it’s gonna drown me
But You’re
a rock I can cling to, to weather the storm
And no matter what happens Lord
I’m safe in Your arms
I’m
safe in Your arms,
I’m trusting in You
Trusting in You
Jesus when you are near anxieties fade away
My fears and troubles seem to disappear
cause they can no longer stay
Lord in Your marvellous presence
I’ll
always want to be
Cause Jesus when I am with You
my bonds are loosed and I’m free
I truly am free when
I’m trusting in You
Lord I need to trust in You more
Won’t you help me open up my door
Lord by
Your hand You uphold me
with strength from heaven above
You take my thoughts from this world full of
sin
And surround me with Your love
And when my work here is finished, my final day is done
I know to
heaven You’ll
take me to live forever with the Son
Forever with the Son
because I’m trusting in You
Beating Heart of Stone
© Jamie Soles Sept 21, 1988
I was stopped by the voice of a blind man along the road today
He asked me if I could lend him a hand to
help him on his way
I prayed “O God, You’ve healed the lame
and raised the dead to life
I know
it’s not too hard for You to give this blind man sight”
And I walked away
Satisfied I walked
away
I was stopped by a beggar man sitting on the walk today
He asked me if I could spare some change
to
help him on his way
I asked him “Don’t you feel ashamed
to be seen in such a state
A broken man
of poverty whom people love to hate
No money I could give you
would be good enough to change who you are
And I walked away
Satisfied I walked away
And as I turned to go I felt the rain begin to fall
And suddenly
I seemed so all alone
I hid behind the shadow of the words that I had said
To justify my beating heart
of stone
My beating heart of stone
I saw my friend in the check-out line at the grocery store today
I said “How
are you doing?” and he turned to me to say
“My marriage is in trouble and I don’t know
what to do
I’m almost at my wits end, I think that it is through”
The meaning of his message
somehow never made it through
Until too late, till too late
And as I turned to go I felt the rain begin to
fall
And suddenly I seemed so all alone
I hid behind the shadow of my ignorance and fear
To justify my beating
heart of stone
And heaven cried today…
I could feel it in the rain
Cause Jesus was here and calling,
and I walked away
Kingdom in the Sky
© Jamie Soles Dec 12, 1987
Kingdom, kingdom in the sky
Must I wait until I die
You know I want to come home
Life by faith without a
sight
Really whets my appetite
You know I want to come home
I want to come home,
I want to come home
How these earthly days drag on
I can’t wait until they’re gone
You know I want to come home
Won’t
You part the clouds for me
And usher in eternity
You know I want to come home
I want to come home,
I want to come home
And I will stand in the promised land
With my Father and my Savior when I get home
I
will stand in the promised land
With my Father and my Savior when I get home
Kingdom, kingdom in the
sky
I will see you by and by
You know when I get home
Kingdom, kingdom in the sky
Land where I will
never die
You know I’m
gonna come home
I’ll bid farewell to the land of men
Never to return again
You know I’m gonna
come home

Into everybody’s life some rain must fall, I know
When there seems to be no light
And you’re
feeling cold, oh I know
When darkness rolls over me
And trouble’s surrounding me
Jesus will cover me,
cover me
And in everybody’s life we feel the pain, we feel the pain
When a memory turns the knife
And
we’re victimized again and again and again
When evil is all I see
And help seems so far from me
Jesus
will cover me, cover me
When I am weak He is strong
He gives me strength to carry on
Into everybody’s
life there comes a time to decide
When there seems to be no light, not to run and hide
Cause when darkness
rolls over you
And trouble’s surrounding you
Jesus will cover you
Cover you, cover you, cover you
Come to Me
© Jamie Soles Jan 14, 1989
Is there anything to be afraid of in this world
Though the hearts of men are turned against you
Some time
ago I walked that road
Never fear, My child, you’re not alone
Is there any reason to be worried for
yourself
Never doubt, I’m strong enough to hold you
I am behind you and before you
I am your strength
and shield
Don’t be afraid of the darkness
No one can keep My love from you
Please believe Me
I only want what’s best for you
And all I have to give I long to give to you
If you would only come
to Me
When you feel abused I understand you
Every tear you cry runs down My face
When you are accused I won’t
condemn you
You can fall in the shadow of My grace
No one can keep My love from you....
How Long
© Jamie Soles Apr 26, 1988
From the time I was a child
The battle lines were drawn
And though the past is far away
The memories linger
on
This war I fight, I fight to win
This race I run to finish what I begin
At times I grow so weary
Though
no-one seems to know
When strength just seems to fail me
And the valleys seem so low
The thing that
keeps me going
Through sunshine and through rain
The certain hope of glory
You’re coming back again
How long will I wait for You
How long, how I long for You
How long, creation aches for You
But no matter
how long
I will wait
My spirit cries for freedom
While encased in mortal chains
So eagerly awaiting
the chance to fly again
When morning breaks and time is gone
And all that’s said is done
This mortal man will
rise again
Immortal as they come
How long will I wait for You....
The Standard Song
© Jamie Soles March 31, 1987
Watch your eyes, they might see
Things they’re not supposed to see
Always screen the things you view
They become a part of you
Have a standard and stand by it
As a safeguard against the devil’s lies
You’ll
regret it if you cross that line
It will lead you into compromise
So watch your eyes
Watch your tongue,
it might say
Things it’s not supposed to say
Careless words can leave a scar
So stop and think before
you go too far
Have a standard and stand by it
May a song of love always be sung
Your neighbor feels
the effects of it
He may be blessed or he may be stung
So watch your tongue
Watch your mind, it might think
Things it’s not supposed to think
What you think is what you’ll do
So dwell on what is good for
you
Have a standard and stand by it
Don’t be fooled into changing your design
You can choose what you
will think about
You can leave those evil thoughts behind
Oh watch your mind
Have a standard and stand by
it
May the Lord’s reflection never dim
Victory is certain if you will
Take your thoughts as captives
unto Him
All Right With Me
© Jamie Soles Aug 29, 1989
If there is hope for the future
If there is help for the past
If one can reclaim lost innocence
And break
the chains at last
If every moment of regret
Can be swept beneath the tide
I will walk upon that shore
And
it’s all right with me
If there is another world
In a place beyond the eye
Where the weary heart can
go
Where the love will never die
Where the poor man need not beg
Where the hungry shall be fed
I will
take the road that leads me there
And it’s all right with me
And if the clouds should hide You
And Your
face appear as stone
Should my house be empty
Should the cold wind chill my bones
I will not fear,
I will not fear
I will not fear for You are with me
When the sun comes into view
And the night has burned
away
I will gaze upon that hill
Where my debt was paid that day
When I breathe the morning air
No delusions
will be there
I will be free
And it’s all right, all right with me
Yeah it’s all right, all right
with me
You Know
© Jamie Soles Jan 6, 1988
How many hurts must I face, O Lord
Before I hurt no more
Though on my face
There may not be a trace
I’ve
learned to hide before
How many dreams must I chase, O Lord
Before I see what is real
And how can I know
The way I should go
Can I lean upon the way I feel
How many times must I fall, O Lord
Before I learn
how to stand
When I’m tempted to sin
I so easily give in
I let go of my hold upon Your hand
All my tears
are in Your bottle
All my sorrows in Your book
You recorded them one by one by one
And though I’ve
often failed You
You always draw me near
And fill me with assurance
That You know
You know
Album Comments
fi-del-i-ty (fi del' i te) Strict observance of or faithfulness to promises, duties, etc. syn. allegiance, devotion, loyalty.
There are two kinds of true faith. One is childlike faith, a kind of simple trust, and the other is what I call Fidelity. A more basic, foundational type of faith, fidelity stands when all else fails. Both are necessary in one's relationship to Almighty God, for He cannot be pleased without faith (Heb. 11.6).
These are songs of faith, for a people of faith. May your faith be deepened and encouraged by them.
