Hi Jamie, I was introduced to your music through Doorposts and loved the first cd "Good Advice" so much I bought "That's the Way My Story Goes". I enjoy singing along with my daughters who have memorized many many of the songs. We would love to see song books with music for piano possibly to go along with them! My 4 yr old likes me to sing "Set a guard O Lord" as a bedtime lullaby to her. What a blessing! They have also learned many otherwise seldom covered old testament stories through your songs. Thank you to you and your family, and keep up the good work.

Dear Jamie,
I really like your songs. I have two of your cds and they're great. I have 'That's the Way My Story Goes' and 'Good Advice'. I have asked my mum to see if you have any more! My sister and I love to sing along and have memorized a lot of them. Thank you.

Dear Jamie,
I first heard you on a CD given to me by Richard Mahar, one that you recorded, I think, at his home. My wife and I love to listen to it and if it were an LP (and not a CD) you would say that we would have worn a hole in it by now. We listen to it on our way to worship most every Lord’s Day. Your music has been, and continues to be a great blessing to us; especially the songs based on the Psalms. Cordially, Rogers Meredith

With all respect I greet you: Hi!
We heard about you from Hannah Kooiman, who moved to our area last year and goes to my church. She told me about your new recordings and I am here to look into ordering them. She was excited that you called her! She and I talked about approaching the local Christian school about having you come for a concert. They are having Steve Green (a big name) for a concert this April. We are not going (too $$$), but would definitely go to your concert if you come!

I can't stop listening to your "Ascending" CD! I can't believe how you can morph a few simple Bible verses into these fabulous rhythms and sweet peaceful harmonies! My Spirits are lifted!!
Jamie - Don't ever, ever quit writing, singing, performing and teaching! You are amazingly gifted!
Val - YOUR VOICE!! WOW! WOW! WOW! This just wouldn't be the same without you.
I can't even imagine the hours and hours and hours...... you and your family have put into this music. I have no idea, but thank you for it all!!
God Bless you and excuse me while I go sing Je-e-e-ru-u-u-u-salem Je-e-e-ru-u-u-u-salem :)

Sign me up for two copies [of Ascending]!
I have been meaning to e-mail you that our girls (ages 5, 3, 2) are totally loving the "Up From Here" and "The Way My Story Goes." Right now their favorites are the shouting of "Go-Go-Go" on "You Can Go." And the five-year-old begs me to play the "Rats" song. And truth be told, the biggest fan is daddy, who even listens when the girls are not in the car.
I was in the car the other day with a couple of other PCA pastors, and was playing it for them, and said, "Isn't this great? My girls will learn all the kings of Israel and Judah." One of the other men, "I need to get this, so I can learn the kings myself!"
Please be sure to let me know if you are ever coming through the Seattle area again, so we can talk about a possible concert.

Thanks Jamie for "River" CD I received last week. I put it into the CD player right away and what a blessing!
I remember how you used to have jam sessions with other guitar players at school, but wow you have gone far beyond that. I am considering getting the Kids CDs for my newest nephew when he's older.
Keep on sharing the love of Jesus Christ through your music, you are an inspiration to us all. The music definitely comes from within. God bless richly!!

Jamie and family,
Thank you for your wonderful ministry to Christ's Church and its covenant children, and to us and ours in particular! We were introduced to you through our church (Matthews Orthodox Pres. in Matthews, NC) last summer and have been listening steadily ever since! Your music has a biblical/redemptive historical focus that I have never found in kids music before. Most children's albums don't try to address deeper theological topics (Christ in the OT, baptism and the Lord's Supper, the resurrection, etc) but you do - and on a level that children and adults can both appreciate and be edified by. I have been brought to tears many times by the glories and joys that you sing about - thank you! My husband thanks you, too, for all your list songs. He has just completed his first year of seminary, and your songs have come in handy for some of the memorization for his classes!
I have to share with you a funny anecdote re. your music. Our oldest child, Kevin, was talking about music and how different people like different types of music. He described himself as a "The Way My Story Goes" kind of guy! What higher compliment can a 5-year old give :) ! May the Lord continue to bless your labors!

Thank you for your testimony. It meant very much to me. I live in Bellingham, Wash. area and am a soloist. I sing maybe twice a year with our local community choir. We sing the Messiah every Christmas and perform something in the Spring either on that line or have an "old fashioned" hymn sing.
I always fretted about not singing more. It really bothered me, because God has given me a voice to use for Him and I haven't been doing very much with it. He than put in my path a lady who was a very talented musician. She had a dream, as I did, to start a choir. That is how the Whatcom County Home Schools began. What a blessing. Parents loved having a choir that sang Godly Reformed Music.
But, I still believed I wasn't using what God had given me. I am now taking voice with a man in Canada and hope to use my talent in about a year from now in weeknight concerts in churches and homes. I am praying for God's guidance in this area. I would love to use some of your music in our children's choir. :) :)

Jamie,
Thank you for sharing your gift of music! Our family enjoys your CDs so thoroughly ... and we are hoping there is another in the making. We have the first 4, but that is just not enough.
Thanks for singing along with Carson and the other kids last summer while visiting Langley, BC, we enjoyed meeting "Jamie Souls" in person.
May our God richly bless you as you share His word so faithfully through song.

Jamie,
Thank you so much for glorifying God with your talents through your music. We first received "The Way My Story Goes" from our Pastor and quickly ordered your other childrens' albums. Our family loves them so much that I ordered copies to have on hand (of all 3 childrens albums) to give out as birthday gifts to friends. Now we are getting wonderful feedback that your songs are edifying family devotions all over New Jersey!
My boys are little so their favorite album is "Good Advice" but we all know the words to all of your kids' songs! I've never been able to memorize well but your songs haved saved me there!
I also love River. A great CD to have (and sing to) on road trips! Keep up your work. We (the church) need it!

Jamie,
Thank you so much for being used of the Lord!!!
My husband was a graduate of the Masters' Seminary (at John MacArthur's church) last year. He oversaw the Sunday School teachers, curriculum and classrooms during the 2003-2004 school year. What a joy it was to have friends of ours at our new church in Maryville, TN introduce us to your music (especially "The Way My Story Goes") this summer.
We have recently given your name and web site information to a good friend who still works as a steady volunteer with the children at MacArthur's Grace Community Church (Sun Valley, CA) in the children's music ministry. It is our desire that your songs be introduced as part of the music the children use in correlation with the curriculum that the church there has written. They seem to go hand-in-hand. His name is Dave Hoffman.
Our nine-year-old son LOVES your music. As do we and Gail Taggart who has played it often as she teaches her kids through the Old Testament in Sunday School at our church (Grace Community Church SBC of Maryville, TN).
So... just to let you know that it might be possible that many young hearts could be singing praise to the Lord with your songs in LA and Tennessee quite often in the coming year. :)
May you and your family continue to serve the Lord Jesus with passion and humility. *Php 1:3-6

Greetings, Mr. Soles!
My mother and father met you at the recent Ministerial Conference in ID and I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how much we enjoy your music! It's so very refreshing to find children's songs that are musically interesting, lyrically sound and just plain fun to listen to and sing. Your CD, "The Way My Story Goes" is probably our favorite family CD and often the one that ends up in the player when there's any work to be done. :) My younger brothers' favorite is, "How to Catch a Wife"...:D
I am in charge of the children's choir for our church (www.gcpchurch.org) and I would love to start using some of your songs as memory work and warm-ups for the kids during choir practice. Do you have the music written out, by any chance? I am a pianist, not a guitarist, unfortunately. However, if you just have the melody line I can add the chords and my own accompaniment for the kids to use during practice.
Again, thanks so much for the splendid work that you are doing with these songs. I think that I may actually learn "all the kings of Israel" after listening a few more times!
In Christ,

Jamie,
As always, your latest album does not disappoint. Everything we've come to expect from your music--rich lyrics which bring home great Scriptural truths wrapped up in beautiful, often captivating music,is found on this CD. I would want to classify this as a "Family" album, as it has songs that are going to appeal to children ("Rats" and "Do it Again") and songs that will bless adults as well. And all explore and expound sound biblical truth in a roughly chronological order. My favorite is "Let My People Go." I love those blues; the harmonica is unbelievable! "Up From Here" is also good. "Sign of the Cross" contained a huge blessing as I contemplated the wonderful picture God gave in how He placed the Israelites around His Tent of Tabernacle. One of your songs, "King," seems to capture the type of harmonies found in the music of Simon and Garfunkel. Val's vocals on "Remember Me" were a nice surprise, and the light rock feel of "You Can Go" gets my children jumping around the living room in delight. Ending on the triumphal tones of the "Apostle's Creed", we finish the CD not only built up in our faith, but delighted by new insight into God's Word.
The consensus as the least favorite song is "Lady Don't Listen." I think the heavy blues tone, combined with the subject (the deception of Eve) makes it less popular with our children in particular. We often skip that track.
All and all, our entire family enjoys this album, especially as we can often distinguish the individual voices of your delightful family. That means all the more to us on a personal level, like having your family in our living room singing 'live' :)
Thanks for a great album and for blessing our family on so many levels and at so many ages. We are expectantly awaiting the NEXT album, but until then, we'll enjoy this one to the fullest.
Blessings,

We have just recently become acquainted with your music and have heard the album "The Way my Story Goes" having come across it on the New St. Andrew's website. We are absolutely thrilled. Good children's music is hard to find and this fits the bill perfectly. We can't wait to share it with our friends. The music is such a clear picture of so many facets of our Lord; His beauty, grace, goodness, wrath, sorrow, humor,... Thank you so much.

Hello, I just finished listening to your new Cd, and being a Father and a singer myself I am thankful that there are musicans that take scripture passages and make them great songs for kids to listen and learn. The apostles creed, the line of God, As the hart etc.. fantastic songs and look forward to hearing them again and again.

Jamie and Val,
Hello, Moriah's mother here. First, thank you for the hospitality you're extending to her. What a joyous time for her and John (all of [us] actually - I'm most certainly overflowing!). Anyway, John gave us a couple of your CD's as a Christmas gift. We're giving one of them to our older daughter and family (they love music very much), the other "Up From Here" we've listened to countless times and love it. Even that which may be expressly with children in mind is very much appreciated by we adults. May God continue to richly bless you and your family and this music gift He has graciously granted you. Looking forward to meeting you all sometime soon. Mrs. P

Thank-you so much for your ministry of music. Last night we received your cd., The Way My Story Goes as a gift from my husband's brother and family. Our children love it already and have asked me to play it many times. Our two year old is walking around chanting and repeating the lyrics after having only listened to it once.
The thing that is most meaningful to us is the strong scriptural content. The music is catchy and I am looking forward to incorporating it into our homeschool curriculum. As well I will be recommending it to many of our friends and children's education director at our church. I am looking forward to purchasing more of your cd's in the future.
May God bless you in your ministry as you serve the Lord, bringing the scriptures to the homes and hearts of fellow servants young and old alike. :)

Dear Jamie:
The basic creation notes.
I've often wondered at this. The general background cmes either from a Lutheran fellow or F. Nigel Lee, one of whom used the image of the cosmos, or the Days of Creation, as a string the God plucked at different points when creating.
Well, I thought, then let's investigate this using the Tabernacle, for we know that it was 3-story, so we can know the heights of each part created. (I have since learned that musicians invert sequences in parts of their symphonies.)
Position 1 would be the holy of holies, made on day 1. The lowest part would be, I haven't sudied this recently, lets' say, day 2. So far we have
A Day 1
B
C
D
E
F Day 2
G
so our first two notes are A, F. G is reserved for the 6th day, I'd say. Wait, maybe the 7th, considering Christ spent it descending to Hell.
Let's revise, then
A Day 1
B
C
D
E
F Day 2
G Seventh Day.
We know that The flocks are some kind of chord (day 5, since they are in the waters under the earth, and birds fly in the firmament, or do we?
Let's put Day 4 next to the Holy of Holies (it rules), and 3 as third lowest, and 4 as 4th lowest, and we have...
A Day 1
B Day 4
C Day 5
D Day 3
E
F Day 2
G Day 7
That leaves E for day 5, so our tune would be either A F D B C E G, or its reversal, G E C B D F A.
This assumes that what I know of the sequences of construction are correct. Jim Jordan would know much more, and he's musical, but this may be too silly a question.
Love in Christ, Chuck, unworthy servant
PS: Then the various stories in 7, 8 parts (what is the note of the 8th day?) would play different tunes?

Thanks for your faithfulness. Your music reinforces our attempts to teach our children the word of God! It also encourages lots of questions that lead to more detailed learning. We have The Way My Story Goes, and it is fun listening to the kids walking around singing various lines from the cd. I have begun recommending it to my friends with young children, and am planning on getting other cd's of yours as well. Thanks again.
